The Interledger Foundation seeks to foster inclusive financial systems that ensure equitable access to digital financial infrastructure, empowering individuals and communities to participate fully in the global economy. Our public policy engagement emphasizes transparency, accountability, and collaboration to address global challenges in digital financial inclusion, advance economic opportunity, and build trust and dignity in financial technologies.

The Interledger Foundation are neutral stewards of Interledger, a suite of Open Standards designed to enable seamless payments across different currencies and financial systems. Through our grant-making we support adoption of Interledger to increase access to digital financial services for the 1.4 billion people currently excluded. The Foundation bridges technology, public policy, and community needs to build inclusivity and accessibility within digital financial systems.

Interledger expands the Internet’s architecture to the financial domain, enabling an interconnected network for digital finance. This contributes to a unified, adaptable digital public infrastructure capable of tackling the complexities of our time, from climate resilience and conflict response to driving sustainable economic growth.
